The
Adirondack Mission

There was a packed church at St Paul's, Brant Lake, on Sunday, August 30, 2009, as members and friends of the Adirondack Mission gathered for a joint service to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the formation of the regional ministry comprising six churches in the southern Adirondacks. The Reverend Canon Delos Wampler, retired member of the original team of clergy who served the missions and lived at Barry House, returned to preach. Following the service, the congregation adjourned to the Brant Lake Town Hall for a sumptuous pot luck luncheon and lively conversation. |

As part of the 50th anniversary observance, members of the Adirondack Mission contributed funds to give their tenth Ark to the Heifer Project. Dr. Roger Ellis, a former member of the Heifer Project board was on hand to receive the check and to present the plaque signifying the gift.
